The Trouble With Lily pt 8

It has been seven months since Lily and Scott met. Lucien tried to fight the divorce, he wanted the apartment, the car, and spousal support. Lily’s lawyer found the girl in the pictures. Lily offered her money for her medical bills, and reconstructive surgery if she would go to court and let the judge know how long she and Lucien had been together. Her name was Amber, and she had no idea Lucien was married. She felt bad for her part in the affair and offered to help Lily for free. Lily insisted that she at least pay the medical bills since it was her fault the poor girl was injured. Amber agreed. Lucien got what he deserved, nothing.

Lily never even told him about the baby, she was going to, until he had walked into court with a sleazy brunette. She got the last laugh when the brunette slapped Lucien after the judge’s decision and told him to, “drop dead, loser.”

Scott and Lily became friends during her divorce. And when she was experiencing the worst of her morning sickness, he came over to take care of her and Marble. He held her hair when she was sick and brewed her ginger tea to ease her upset stomach. Lily loved that Scott took care of her and didn’t mind that she looked like hell 99 percent of the time. But now was the time for her to get ready for the baby, and she wasn’t sure she could do this on her own anymore. She still had to finish the nursery, and her parents were getting a house nearby to be closer to her and their first grand-baby.

She was beginning to think she was stupid for not wanting to know the gender sooner. She thought she could do a completely gender-neutral baby room, but she was hating the color scheme. Yellow and green, yuck. She looked at marble, now almost a year old, “what do you think pretty girl? Should I have the room repainted?”

“If you don’t like it, change it.” Scott said as he came into the room with her tea. “No one said it had to be yellow and green to be neutral.”
